Sarah Taylor Silverwood

Sarah Taylor Silverwood is based in Birmingham.  Her work is grounded in drawing and plays with the formation of narrative.  Historical references and material from contemporary, popular culture mutate into one another, often using personal or public archives and research in its processes.

Previously, Sarah has solo exhibitions at the new Art Gallery Walsall and the Barber Institute of Fine Arts.  She was Artist in Residence at Chicago Sister Cities 2014.  She has received a number of awards for her work, including the Ruskin Drawing Prize Shortlist in 2014, the Whitworth Wallis Trust Award 2013 (winner), the Drawing Inspiration Award 2012, and Jerwood Drawing Prize Shortlist, 2008.
