Gilbertstone Primary School
The school wanted to celebrate Birmingham’s jewellery making heritage, their pupils’ love of the Forest School and Year 6’s achievements, as they move to secondary school. Each Year 6 pupil worked closely with artist, Kate Webley, to produce an enamelled ‘medal’ (based on natural forms) to bejewel their owlet – a traditional process used in jewellery making. Gilbert was gilded as a finishing touch.
