Help us to create a magical Big Hoot art trail

Next summer, Ipswich will host 40 individually designed Owl Sculptures – which means we will soon be on the lookout for talented and creative artists to come up with the alluring designs.

The bar has been set high; Pigs Gone Wild and Elmers Big Parade where an array of artists produced some truly imaginative and beautiful creations, and we can’t wait to see what will be suggested for our Big Hoot next year.

We are looking for local and national artists and you don’t have to be a well-known artist to submit a design.  Those of you who are undiscovered are encouraged to take part too, you never know, this could be the start of something Big!

All submissions received will be shortlisted by our expert selection panel, ahead of a special matchmaker event in January, the first opportunity for sponsors and designs to meet.

The call for artists will open in June. Please check this page for the artists’ submission pack, which will contain full details on how to enter, as well as the template on which to submit your design.

Alternatively, you can register your interest with us via email and we will send you a copy of the pack when it comes out.

If you are one of the artists selected, you will be commissioned to customise one of the 40 Big Hoot statues; creating a unique piece of art to be displayed next summer, at the end of the trail the statues will be auctioned to raise much needed funds for St Elizabeth Hospice.
