Thank you to everyone who took part in the raffle!

Congratulations to Claire from Angmering who gets to give Chester his forever home.

The impact your donation makes

“The hospice came at a time when we were at our lowest. They took us under their wing, and they nurtured us back to some kind of strength. They enabled us to be able to say goodbye to Rupert, and I think that was life-changing for us.”

Kate, who was supported by Chestnut Tree House after the death of her four month old son, Rupert. When Rupert died unexpectedly, he was brought to our special bereavement suite where his family could say goodbye in calm and beautiful surroundings.

How does a Text Raffle work?

Taking part in a raffle via text is slightly different from a physical raffle. Instead of going to a raffle in person and obtaining a physical ticket, you enter the raffle via text message.

Your mobile phone number is your entry number and you can enter our Text Raffle up to 10 times!

When the raffle draw takes place on 16/09/2024, the winner will be chosen at random. This is done using a Unique Random Number Generator.

How entering a Text Raffle helps

Text Raffles are a simple and cost-effective way of helping fund vital services such as the emotional, social and spiritual support we provide at Chestnut Tree House.

Last year, our team of counsellors, social workers and chaplaincy provided 1,462 support sessions to children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

This support is only possible because of kind-hearted supporters like you who enter the raffle and make a donation to Chestnut Tree House.

How do I know if I’ve won?

The winner will be contacted on 16/09/2024 using the mobile phone number provided. Chestnut Tree House will arrange UK delivery of the Chester the Owl sculpture at no cost to the winner.

What are the Text Raffle T&Cs?

For information on how we use your personal data please see the Privacy Notice here.

  1. The prize draw will open at 12:00pm on 01/07/2024 and close at 12:00pm on 16/09/2024.
  2. For information on how to enter the draw, text the word CHESTER to 70215. Text messages cost your standard network message charge (based on your service provider rates – please check with your provider). You will then receive a free bounce-back message from 70215 providing you with instructions on how to enter the competition and the option to donate to Chestnut Tree House.
  3. For the avoidance of doubt, opting out of the optional donation will not affect your entry into the prize draw.
  4. The prize draw is open to UK residents (please note the text service to enter the prize draw does not include Channel Islands or Isle of Man mobile networks). The prize draw is open to those aged 18 or over, except persons directly involved in the running of the Chestnut Tree House Chester Raffle. Proof of age, identity and eligibility may be requested.
  5. A maximum of 10entries can be made per mobile phone number.
  6. Please ensure you spell the Keyword, CHESTER, correctly and send your text message to the correct Short Code, 70215, within the time period that the prize draw is specified as being open. If your short code is invalid, or your text message is received outside the specified time period you will not receive a bounce-back message but may still be charged your standard network message charge. You will not be donating to Chestnut Tree House nor will you have entered the prize draw. If you enter the Keyword incorrectly but we, acting reasonably, believe that you are trying to find out more information about the prize draw, you will be sent the free bounce-back message, as described above.
  7. If you’re a UK taxpayer, Chestnut Tree House can claim an equal share of an additional £2.50 in Gift Aid from the Government for every £10 donation you make. If you elect to make an optional donation, we’ll send a follow up text to ask if you want us to claim Gift Aid on your donation. If you follow the link in our follow up text, you’ll be taken to a Gift Aid declaration – please read it carefully. Find out more about Gift Aid here.
  8. There is only ONE prize available to be won. The details of the prize are as follows: Chester the Owl Sculpture.
  9. The winner will be selected at random and contacted on 16/09/2024 by Chestnut Tree House by telephone. If the winner does not respond in order to claim the prize by the end of the next working day, Chestnut Tree House reserves the right to contact the next eligible winner (and in this case the original winner forfeits their claim to the prize), and so on until a winner is found.
  10. The prize is as stated. There is no cash alternative, and the prize cannot be sold or transferred in any circumstances. For the avoidance of doubt, unless specified above, no other costs or expenses will be covered by Chestnut Tree House.
  11. Chestnut Tree House and its sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any telephone network or line, system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any text not being properly received.
  12. The prize draw and text donation service is provided by Donr on behalf of Chestnut Tree House. If you have any queries regarding the service, please contact Donr at the following email address: hello@donr.com or call on the following Helpline Number: 0333 4444 111 (Monday to Friday 9:00 – 17:30).
