Meet our new sponsor, Covers

Date published: 21 February 2024

Local, family-owned builders’ merchants Covers has joined public art trail The Big Hoot as plinth sponsor.

The company, which has 17 depots across the south-east of England, will design and construct all 30 plinths for the owls making up the trail in Chichester and Arundel this summer. The event will raise funds and awareness for Chestnut Tree House, the children’s hospice for Sussex and South-East Hampshire.

Henry Green, managing director, said: “Since 2015 we have, with the help of our customers, donated almost £250,000 to hospices. We’re always looking for innovative ways to support hospices, which play such a crucial role in providing care to those in need.  We were delighted to be involved when Chestnut Tree House announced The Big Hoot and asked if we would make the 30 boxes on which the owl sculptures are to be mounted. It’s a chance to put the skills of our team to the test!  We look forward to following the trail and wish everyone involved enormous success with the project.”

You can still get involved

The Big Hoot will take place in Chichester and Arundel in summer 2024, with around 30 owl sculptures designed and decorated by artists and sponsored by local businesses. Find out how your business could get involved.
