Meet our new sponsor, Shoreham Vehicle Auctions

Date published: 15 February 2024

Going, going, gone! In a bid to support families in the local community, Shoreham Vehicle Auctions will sponsor an owl in children’s hospice Chestnut Tree House’s public art trail this summer.

The Big Hoot will see 30 owl sculptures swoop into Chichester and Arundel for July and August, with individual designs created by artists from the local area and further afield. All money raised will help Chestnut Tree House support children and young people with life-limiting conditions, along with their families.

Managing director Alex Wright said: “We are extremely excited to continue our support for this brilliant charity by sponsoring an owl and being part of The Big Hoot.

“Our relationship with Chestnut Tree House goes back many years – since 2011, when we held our first charity auction for the hospice. Through the generosity of various buyers, local independent and national dealer groups who generously donated prizes and vehicles, we raised £1,900. The auction is now an annual event and so far, we have raised £272,000 for Chestnut Tree House. We are aiming to smash the £300,000 mark at our next charity car auction on 25 March.”

Community Fundraiser Caroline Roberts-Quigley said: “Thanks to the generous support of Shoreham Vehicle Auctions, we’ve been able to add life to shortened years, supporting families to create magical memories in the time they have together. We’re so thrilled to have them on board as part of The Big Hoot and look forward to seeing their owl during the trail this summer.”
