Oleksandr is an artist from the Ukraine who has lived in Chichester for two years. He wanted to create his version of the owl to represent Ukrainian art in the UK, which he’s achieved by demonstrating the style of Petrikovskaya painting. Petrikovskaya painting is a Ukrainian form of decorative and ornamental folk painting which preserves the customs of decorating Ukrainian homes, while also being a modern form that develops and acquires new features.
