About Chestnut Tree House
We make sure that children and families who know they don’t have long together have the chance to live life to the full and say goodbye in the way that is right for them.
Since opening in 2003 we’ve cared for over 1,000 children and young people. Our care doesn’t just start and end at the hospice, we also take our services into children’s homes, helping parents and families to take a well-earned break.
At Chestnut Tree House, we know how important it is for families to make the most of every moment – spending time together and making precious memories.
We hope that The Big Hoot encourages people to come together and enjoy time with family and friends, while exploring the vibrant city of Chichester and historic town of Arundel, discovering the different owl sculptures. The money raised from The Big Hoot will help children live as full a life as possible, no matter what their condition – enabling them to access all the everyday activities that children enjoy, like splashing about in a swimming pool or hunting for bugs (or owls!) in the woods.

What we do
300 children
are cared for each year, at the hospice and in families’ own homes.
Over £4 million
is needed every year in order to provide all of Chestnut Tree House’s care services, with only 15% of this coming from central government.

The impact we make
“The hospice came at a time when we were at our lowest. They took us under their wing, and they nurtured us back to some kind of strength. They enabled us to be able to say goodbye to Rupert, and I think that was life-changing for us.”
