About Chestnut Tree House
We make sure that children and families who know they don’t have long together have the chance to live life to the full and say goodbye in the way that is right for them.
Since opening in 2003 we’ve cared for over 1,000 children and young people. Our care doesn’t just start and end at the hospice, we also take our services into children’s homes, helping parents and families to take a well-earned break.
At Chestnut Tree House, we know how important it is for families to make the most of every moment – spending time together and making precious memories.
We hope that The Big Hoot encourages people to come together and enjoy time with family and friends, while exploring the vibrant city of Chichester and historic town of Arundel, discovering the different owl sculptures. The money raised from The Big Hoot will help children live as full a life as possible, no matter what their condition – enabling them to access all the everyday activities that children enjoy, like splashing about in a swimming pool or hunting for bugs (or owls!) in the woods.

Meet Christopher and his family, who receive support from Chestnut Tree House. Christopher’s complex needs have left him cut off from most of the activities other children his age enjoy during the holidays, but at Chestnut Tree House he gets to have a fun and active summer. Plus, the whole family get to spend quality time together and create lasting memories.
Christopher’s mum, Erin, shared:
“It’s only at Chestnut Tree House that Christopher, and our whole family, can have the best summer holidays. Without them, I simply wouldn’t be able to balance caring for Christopher and looking after the rest of the family and our home”
